ON APRIL 2 AN AMBULANCE FROM LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, was involved in a single-vehicle crash that killed the patient being tended in the back.  (Firegeezer report HERE.)  The Metro EMS ambulance driver said that she had to swerve to avoid a pedestrian that had dashed out into the roadway shortly after midnight.

WLKY-TV has learned that an eyewitness has been located who is giving an entirely different version of what happened.  The witness, Tammy Pablo, said she was driving behind the ambulance the night of the crash and the vehicle was swerving for a half-mile to a mile.

“It swerved from our lane to the other lane back to our lane and it wasn’t just a little bit of a swerve to the line, they were swerving all the way over to the other lane,” she said.

Police have also confirmed that the two EMS workers gave conflicting statements to investigators.  There is also some concern about how the patient was restrained during the trip.
