WKBT reports:

La Crescent Fire Chief Bernie Buehler says after three La Crescent firefighters entered a second-story apartment to fight the fire, part of the roof caved in, trapping the firefighters inside. Buehler says ladders were set up at windows and the three firefighters were able to get to the ground safely and unhurt.

The Thursday morning fire was the 2nd in three days in the same building.  On Tuesday morning a fire burned out two units.

The fire chief believes yesterday’s fire was started when the wind started blowing some fire embers from Tuesday’s fire that were embedded in the roof insulation.

WKBT has the full story and a good video showing the fire HERE.
