EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING A LOUISVILLE (KENTUCKY) METRO EMS ambulance was involved in an accident that killed the patient they were taking to the hospital.
It is not known why the patient was being transported, but while en route to the hospital a pedestrian darted out into the roadway in front of the ambulance. The driver swerved to miss the pedestrian, struck a utility pole and veered into a fence. All three people were transported, but the medics were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The patient died about a half-hour later from her injuries received in the crash.
The police are investigating, but have not been able to locate any witnesses or any clues about who the pedestrian was.
