THE PARIS, KENTUCKY, FIRE CHIEF is tendering his resignation today under pressure from the City Commission.
The Lexington Herald-Leader is reporting that Chief Kent Morris met with the Commissioners last night in a closed meeting and afterwards the Commission announced that announced they would withdraw charges of misconduct and inefficiency against him after he resigns today.
The charges stem from he and his wife, who is a Paris firefighter/paramedic, used the city ambulance for personal use without logging the activity.
Morris, who has been fire chief for just over 4 years, was accused last year of using firehouse supplies to remodel his house, but a State Police investigation didn’t reveal any evidence of the accusation.
