SUNDAY WAS A TRAGIC DAY FOR THE FIRE & RESCUE SERVICE as two firefighters perished in separate fires.
A Passaic County, New Jersey, volunteer firefighter collapsed and died inside a West Milford home during an attic fire. Raymond Barrett was 62 yrs. old and had been a volunteer for “several decades” according to police.
His colleagues perfomed CPR from the time of his collapse all the way to the hospital to no avail. No further information has been released yet.

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A WEEK, a Quebec firefighter died in a house fire. In Val-des-Monts an 18-yr.-old volunteer died when a portion of a house collapsed on him, burying him in the rubble.
The fire, which started on the 2nd floor around 1:45 pm Sunday, was already out two hours later when the collapse occurred. The firefighter whose name has not been released yet, was alone inside when it occurred.
