A MAJOR FIRE IS UNDERWAY IN LITTLETON, NEW HAMPSHIRE, this morning.
The blaze started around 5:30 am in a large warehouse just one block off of Main Street and has also destroyed several two homes in the downtown area.

Strong wind gusts are hindering efforts to contain the fire and fire departments from at least 22 other towns have responded to assist.
Update: The warehouse was the property of DCI, a furniture manufacturing plant. The fire appears to have been contained as of 9:00 am.

Update #2: At 10:20 am the town police chief says that the fire is still going strong, sending embers up and down Main Street, and the rear of a nearby church has started smoking.

Update #3: The fire was brought under control before noon and this afternoon has been dedicated to mop-up and extinguishing pockets. The massive building was originally a glove factory but was currently a warehouse for a furniture plant.
Update, Fri. Jan. 11: The building was empty and unused by the DCI furniture making firm that owned it. A total of four buildings were destroyed or damaged by the fire. The latest updated news report it HERE.
