THE MARKET VALUE OF USED AMBULANCES has just jumped up in England.
The City of London has instituted a $15 per day “congestion charge” for vehicles driving on the city streets during the business day and it has been so successful in raising cash that other localities are considering the tax.
The law, as currently written, exempts some vehicles from the charge such as handicapped drivers, tow trucks, motorcycles ….. and……ambulances. However, the ambulance doesn’t have to actually be in service as part of the emergency fleet. As long as it was originally registered as one, has the word “ambulance” written on the side and carries oxygen, then it meets the exemption clause, even if it’s privately owned.

England has been using those little “rapid response” ambulances long enough now that they are starting to come onto the used-car market.
