Getting A 2nd Opinion

View Comments

IN SAUDI ARABIA, A MAN DIDN’T LIKE THE ADVICE that his doctor was giving him and wanted a second opinion.  So did he consult another doctor?  Nooooo…..he called the Fire Department.

The Arab News reports:

MADINAH, 10 December 2007 — A Saudi man called the fire department in Madinah to save him from a doctor who wanted to amputate his finger, the Al-Riyadh daily reported yesterday.

The man was suffering from a swollen finger and as a result, he could not remove his ring. This was causing the man a lot of pain as the ring was preventing the proper blood flow to the finger. His doctor told him that the only way to get the ring off was to amputate the finger. The man asked the doctor for time to think and when the doctor left the room, the man called the fire department and asked them to come his aid.

A team of firefighters arrived and managed to cut the ring off and save the man’s finger from amputation. The man left the hospital blaming the doctor for rushing to amputate his finger without considering alternative solutions.
