The continuing saga of Donna and his magic fire truck.  All previous articles are archived in the Donna category.

Fred was in a spot now.  For the first time, the deputies and the community found out his true identity.  On top of that, he couldn’t drive his fire truck anymore until he corrected these violations.

His pretrial hearing was set for May 23, so he had to get into gear.  First he had his “fire department” incorporated and filed with the State Corporation Commission.

Next he needed license plates.  In the strange legal procedures of Arizona, all he had to do was show his corporation papers and the DMV just took him at his word and mailed him a license plate for his rusty fire engine.

Then he had to get insurance.  It became effective on May 22, the day before his hearing.

We don’t know where he got the money from, but a million-dollar liability policy doesn’t come too cheap.

When he eventually went to the final hearing on November 15, he only had to answer to the disorderly conduct and the invalid license charges.  We haven’t yet found out what his penalty was, but he was able to return home on the 15th.

But the next day, November 16, the hammer fell.  Tomorrow we will cover the activities of the following week and the sudden turn in Donna’s dreams.
