IN EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, A MENTAL PATIENT at the Edinburgh Royal Infimary stole an ambulance mini-bus that had four pensioners and a carer in the back.

When the patient first came out of the hospital he approached the ambulance driver and offered him a bag filled with £1 coins to take him home.  The driver refused and went to get security.  While he was gone, the patient hopped into the ambulance and started racing around the hospital grounds for about 10 minutes before crashing into a fence.

He’s back in his ward now, and The Scotsman has the STORY.
