2 Stuntmen Burned On Movie Lot

TWO PROFESSIONAL STUNT MEN WORKING ON A FILM at the Universal Studios lot yesterday suffered severe burns while filming a scene yesterday.

Two stuntmen were hospitalized Monday after an accident on the Universal Studios set of Adam Sandler’s new comedy left them with first- and third-degree burns, according to Los Angeles County fire officials.

One man suffered burns to his hands and legs, while the other sustained injuries to his back. Both were taken to the nearby Grossman Burn Center in Sherman Oaks, where one is listed in serious yet stable condition and the other is listed as stable.

The crew was at Universal filming scenes for You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.  The comedy, due in theaters June 6, stars Sandler as an Israeli secret agent who fakes his own death so he can start anew as a hairdresser in New York. Henry Winkler and Rob Schneider costar.

Firefighters were called to the studio’s “European Street” set at 3:46 pm where they found the two actors with first- and third-degree burns.  One is in serious but stable condition and the other is listed as stable.
