Regional EMS Training Facility Opens In Virginia

Comments Off

IN THE FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA, AREA there is a regional EMS association of 2,000 emergency rescue workers serving in about 70 licensed agencies.  The Rappahanock EMS Council serves fire and rescue agencies in 10 neighboring jurisdictions as well as some military installations and commercial ambulance and helicopter companies.

When the community free health clinic moved into a new building recently, the local hospital that owns the old building leased it to the REMS for $1 per year for use as a training facility.

The center is now open and includes full mock-ups of OBS, assorted medical scenario scenes, a simulated hospital ER, and an entire ambulance body.
