MONTREAL, QUEBEC, FIREFIGHTERS HAVE BEEN WORKING WITHOUT A CONTRACT SINCE DECEMBER. It’s an understatement to say that negotiations aren’t going so well.
There are 12 stations in the city that house Battalion Chief and District Chief offices. Sometime on Saturday night all the locks to the offices were filled with epoxy, the doors bolted shut and the windows painted white.

The city has gone to court to get an injunction to permit the chiefs to get into their own offices and has also posted private security guards outside each office. Cleaning crews and locksmiths entered the 12 stations Sunday under police escort to repair the damage.
Wow!
