Downtown Factory Fire In Indiana

A PLASTICS MANUFACTURING PLANT SUFFERED A MAJOR FIRE in downtown Richmond, Indiana yesterday.  The building where the fire originated was a storage facility for Primex Plastics.  The factory complex is in the heart of Richmond’s commercial district.

The 3-alarm fire, which was still burning at midnight, extended to at least two other buildings including one across the railroad tracks.

 Primex, which operated the warehouse, has operations in several states.  The company’s website says the Richmond plant is the largest in the chain.  The company makes a variety of plastic products that can be found in golf carts, power tools, and other familiar items.
