Comments Off

THE VOTERS IN GLENDALE, ARIZONA GAVE THEIR APPROVAL for a massive increase in public safety funding on Tuesday.

Cities in Arizona are reliant on local sales taxes to provide municipal funds.  Glendale will quintuple their public safety levy from 0.1 to 0.5 per cent on their local sales tax.

This new increase is expected to generate an additional $20 million per year with about 2/3 of it for police and 1/3 for fire.  The FD will add about 20 positions in the first year.
