Dopey Fire Chief – Putting Ads On Fire Engines?

IN A WORLD AWASH IN KLUTZY ADVERTISEMENTS, the Fire Chief in Stockton, California is actually proposing selling ad space on the sides of his fire trucks.  Are the people in Stockton so cheap that they won’t provide the funds needed to run public safety agencies?  Or are the politicians so wrapped up in getting themselves re-elected that they are diverting public monies to social welfare handouts?  Firegeezer  votes for #2.

It is just amazing that somebody who holds himself out to be a professional firefighter would even consider taking the focus off of what a fire engine is used for and using it in such a demeaning way.

p.s.  Fire Chief Hittle says that his firefighters wear “funky helmets that don’t really perform all that well in a fire,”….
So…why doesn’t he provide his  firefighters with proper equipment?  The other fire departments do.  Firegeezer is glad he never had a boss like that.
