British fire brigades plead to have 9-9-9 consolidation scrapped.

IN GREAT BRITAIN THE GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN trying for several years to implement a plan to consolidate the emergency dispatch centers.  Pointing to the failures of other gov’t. programs to consolidate (i.e.  do more with fewer people – ed.) and cost overruns already in effect, the Fire Brigades Union is calling on the government to use the £1 billion to bolster the frontline services.
