Dublin Fire Brigade
I WILL BE TRAVELING TO IRELAND this week and have read a great book on The Dublin Fire Brigade. The Dublin Fire Brigade started in 1862 and has had an ambulance service since the beginning of the 20th Century. It is incredible to read about how a Fire Service for an Irish city began with an Act that asked Queen Victoria for permission to have, “Engines, Escapes, Implements, Apparatus…”Here are some more linksIrish Fire Services

Does Fido want a beer?
EVERYBODY KNOWS HOW DOGS LOVE to lap up spilt beer….or even a bit of brew in their water dish. Well, the good times are a’coming, Fido. Dog Star Brewing Co. is now running off batches just for doggies. Happy Tail Ale is a non-alcoholic beer enhanced with natural beef flavorings. Who says times are tough?

A cell phone powered by a AAA battery
PHILIPS ELECTRONICS HAS INTRODUCED A CELL PHONE that will operate for another 3 hours off a AAA battery when the main battery goes dead.
What’s really neat is that if you elect to use a rechargable AAA instead of a regular one (either kind will work), your phone recharger will charge up the backup at the same time it repowers the main battery.

7.5 days of non-stop music
IN A SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT to set a new Guiness record, a group of Japanese musicians played non-stop for 184 hours. 900 of them took turns performing. In order to preserve the effort, a pianist played right on through a major earthquake.
If it was Hank Williams I probably could have listened for the full 7 days. says Firegeezer

We’re not really anonymous…..
WE’RE JUST GETTING OUR FEET WET in the blogosphere. The GeezerGang (Firegeezer, LocalGuy and Medicbonz) can put out fires and do CPR, but computer code is a foreign language to us.
Within the next couple of days we will have our “About us” page up so you’ll know who we are. We’ll also list the email addresses so that you can write us to send in tips or complain/compliment the site.
We be getting everything up and running during the course of the next couple of weeks and then we’ll “go public.” Even after only 4 days online and no publicity, we have already had visitors from 6 countries. Thanks to all of you for your interest and we hope to keep improving.

JUST OUTSIDE OF PHILLY a woman, whose car had run out of gas, stole an ambulance to continue her trip, leaving the crew stranded with their stroke victim.

Former pro wrestler who invented the drop-kick dies at age 101
AN INTERESTING OBITUARY NOTICE of one tough bird. Picture somebody who is 5′-3″, weighs 200 lbs., 18.5″ neck and is all muscle. He thoroughly whipped two muggers who jumped him……when he was 80 yrs. old.
